The memorial brought together friends, professors and peers whose lives he had touched during his time at the institution.
Moore’s family, unable to attend, shared written remembrances describing him as a “seeker” who pursued meaning and purpose with independence and thoughtfulness. They reflected on his sense of exploration, joy and deep appreciation for relationships.
Moore’s girlfriend, Angie Riel, spoke about his kindness and attentiveness, recalling personal moments that highlighted his caring nature. Faculty members also paid tribute, including philosophy professor Craig Duncan, who remembered Moore’s originality and intellectual depth, citing his creative academic work that drew connections between complex ideas and everyday experiences.
Originally enrolled as a music student, Moore later transitioned into legal studies while continuing to engage with his passion for music. He worked as a student recording services staff engineer, contributing to the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance.
Those who knew Moore said he had a unique ability to bring people together through shared interests like music and food. The memorial concluded with a candlelight tribute accompanied by jazz music, honoring a passion that remained central to his life.
